Chair’s welcome

Dear Member/Future Member,

Welcome to our website.

We are proud of our club based at Banbury Road North Sports Ground with its great bunch of members. In terms of membership, our club is diverse, and we welcome everyone – from complete beginners through to high level competitive players and from tiny tots to nonagenarians! We are a club run by members for the members and it goes without saying that our club would not run successfully without the enormous amount of time and energy that all our volunteers put into it.

Our ethos is based on five areas:

Learn to Play

Whether you are new to the game or are a little rusty, our coaches run beginners and “Back to Tennis” sessions, where you can build your confidence and develop the skills that will allow you to get the most out of the club and your tennis.

Play

An organised game with friends, a match, a social club morning or evening or coaching with one of our highly qualified team – it’s all there for the taking. With 10 grass courts and 9 floodlit hard courts and around 700 members we are the largest club in Oxfordshire.

Compete

There is plenty of opportunity to compete at all levels – club championships, match play days, mini tennis tournaments, American tournaments and leagues both locally and nationally. We also organise friendly matches throughout the summer and have an inter-club box league that runs throughout the year. We are also honoured to act as hosts of events such as the British Tour and the Inter-County Championships as well as other adult and junior LTA events during the course of the year.

Improve

We have a great team of well-qualified and enthusiastic coaches who run a busy and varied programme of coaching for juniors and adults alike. The coaches are always delighted to help you improve your game and achieve your aims.

Socialise

We organise a number of fun social events during the year which are advertised here on the website and via email and social media to members. As far as social tennis is concerned, our daytime and evening club sessions are popular, and you will meet plenty of people of varying standards to mix in with. This is a great way of meeting other members of the club (new and old!) in a relaxed environment. Our Clubhouse and bar are open during key playing hours where you can purchase refreshments before, during and after play, and allow you to socialise with your fellow members in a relaxed atmosphere. We are planning a number of improvements to the Club and our facilities over the coming months and years, with the aim of further enhancing the member experience here.

So, please don’t just take our word for it – come along and try us. Research has told us that those who play Tennis have a longer life expectancy than any other sport – we hope you can put that to the test at North Oxford LTC soon!

If you have any questions, then please contact us via email at office.noltc@gmail.com

All the Best
