Seeking sponsor to help get North Oxford to national league

21 February 2016, by Matt Pickles

North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club’s men’s A team take part in the Aegon Team Tennis regional league every summer.

They are currently the only team in Oxfordshire to play at this level but they have ambitions to get to the national league.

Last year they came fifth in the league and the year before that they missed out on promotion by the narrowest of margins – by one single match.

The club is now looking for a sponsor to help them to go one better this summer.

‘We are determined that this is the year we get promotion to the national league,’ says the team’s captain Jack Rooney.

‘We know it is achievable – we have come close in the last couple of years even though we struggled to put out our strongest team for away matches.’

The away matches require players to travel as far as Gloucester and Windsor. With a sponsor covering travel expenses and match fees, it will allow the club to regularly put out their best possible team to launch North Oxford onto the national stage.

The club is looking for £600 to cover players’ expenses and to provide a win bonus which will allow them to attract the best players in the county.

In return a sponsor would receive:

‘We think we can give a great profile to our sponsor,’ says John Brewster of North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club.

‘When we reach the national league, we will be playing against the very best clubs in the country and our sponsor will have their name associated with that success on the LTA’s website and in local media of all the clubs in the national league.

‘Our first-class facilities – nine hard courts and ten grass courts, and well equipped club house – can also be used by the sponsor for a unique company away day.’

This club is happy to discuss different levels of support. For more information please contact John Brewster on john@jbrewster.fsnet.co.uk  or 07714 251542.
