Dear Member,
This is our last monthly newsletter of 2025, we hope you have enjoyed them. We wish all our members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Christmas party on the 11th December – see registration link below.
We continue to have positive dialogue with the Council on a new lease which will enable us to progress with Padel and Clay with the aim of being able to do so in the New Year, in line with the EGM.
Ann Parsons
It is with great sadness that we must report the recent death of (Margaret) Ann Parsons, who was a long standing member of NOLTC in its days at St John’s College ground in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Ann was also a member of the Etceteras ladies’ hockey club, that was eventually absorbed by the Hawks. More recently Ann was a regular attendee and supporter of Club events such as County Week and our other major tournaments.
Upcoming Socials
NOLTC Xmas Party: Thursday 11th December 2025, 7pm. Please sign up here.
EGM – Tuesday 13th January
We will be holding an EGM on Tuesday 13th January 2026 with the purpose of obtaining consent from members to change the Club’s status to an incorporated limited company with CASC status, and to update members on our development plans, and funding requirements. Please sign up here.
OUP Courts & Refurb
We are going to deep clean, fill various small potholes and replace nets and posts on the OUP courts to ensure courts are properly playable and safe.
Weather permitting, this will happen from Monday 15th December and take 4-5 days.
You may have heard that we would also like to have them repainted. Unfortunately this can’t be done until the Spring when it’s warmer.
If you do not have access to OUP courts on your Booker app – and would like to use the OUP courts – please contact Steve to activate this for you at noltc.office@gmail.com. Please note you may have to delete your Booker App and reinstall it for OUP to show as an option along with the NOLTC courts. If you ask for access you will be emailed an invite that you need to accept to obtain access to the OUP courts. Check your spam folder for this invite if you don’t see it in your inbox a few days after requesting access. *OUP is listed as: ‘OUP Sports Ground’ on the Booker App.
Indoor Tennis at White Horse, Abingdon
We have secured one indoor court on Tuesdays, from 8-10pm over the winter. Most sessions have been booked but there is still availability for members or team captains to book on:
Tuesday 27th January – book here
Tuesday 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th March – book here
Social Secretary WANTED!
We are seeking a Social Secretary to join the Committee. If you’re interested in helping us out, please email the Club Secretary noltc.secretary@gmail.com. It’s not a lonely role – you will have plenty of support from the Committee team and the staff! In fact, it’s very, er, social…
Thank you for your support for our plans and for the feedback that we have received over recent months. And if there are any members who would be interested in assisting the Club in any way – from assisting with the development or sitting on a sub-committee then we would love to hear from you.
General Manager Email
Julian now has a dedicated Club email address: noltc.manager@gmail.com. Please use this to contact Julian for all questions, help required and to give any feedback.
Best wishes
Your NOLTC Committee Team
